Advocate Vinod Mathew Wilson is a distinguished criminal lawyer with over 15 years of legal practice and currently serves as the State President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Kerala.
In April 2023, as part of an organizational revamp, AAP appointed him to lead its Kerala unit, aiming to introduce new leadership and contest against what it termed the “immoral politics” of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Under his leadership, the party has focused on bringing new faces into politics, particularly targeting local body elections to establish a stronger presence in the state.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, AAP, under Wilson’s guidance, chose not to contest any seats in Kerala. This strategic decision was made to strengthen the opposition coalition against the BJP at the national level, emphasizing the party’s commitment to broader political objectives over regional contests.
Beyond his political endeavors, Wilson is also the Legal Advisor at AdCandid, showcasing his continued engagement in the legal field alongside his political responsibilities.
