Prof. (Dr.) Saju Kannanthara is a seasoned academician, textile technocrat, and political leader, currently serving as the Kerala State Spokesperson and State Committee Member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). With over 30 years of leadership experience across the education, textile, and garment export sectors, he brings a unique blend of industry expertise, grassroots activism, and academic excellence to public service.
Educational and Professional Background
Dr. Kannanthara holds a Ph.D. in Marketing Management from Calorx Teacher’s University, an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Nagpur University, and a Diploma in Textile Technology from Central Polytechnic College, Trivandrum. He is also a graduate in Physics from S.B. College, Changanacherry (MG University).
Over the years, he has held several senior academic and administrative positions, including:

- Professor & Director, Christ Institute of Management, Ghaziabad (Off-campus of Christ University)
- Director, Satyam Fashion Institute, Noida

Political Journey and Responsibilities in AAP
Since joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Prof. Kannanthara has played an instrumental role in building the party’s presence and credibility in Kerala:
- Appointed Kerala State Spokesperson in July 2022, he regularly represents AAP on leading Malayalam and national news channels including Mathrubhumi, MediaOne, Reporter, and News18.
- Conducted leadership training and ideological orientation sessions for party volunteers and office bearers across the state.
- Played a key role in drafting the AAP Kerala organizational manual and contributed to the development of the national party brochure for membership campaigns.
- Serves as Convenor of Kurichy Panchayat, the first Panchayat in Kerala with 100% ward-level committee formation.
- Former District President (West Delhi) of the AAP South Indian Cell.
Social & Cultural Contributions
Beyond politics and academics, Prof. Kannanthara is a committed social worker and cultural leader:
- Led and addressed the Kerala farmer’s protest at Ghaziabad-Delhi border in the presence of farmer leader Shri Rakesh Tikayat.
- Founder and President of the Muttathu Varkey Memorial Library, Changanacherry, donating personal land for its development.
- Chief Editor and Executive Member of World Malayalee Council and Delhi Malayalee Association.
- Founder of several cultural and youth organizations including Prathibha Balajanasakhyam and Kannanthara Kudumbayogam.
